Thank you Kyle for sharing this encouraging note - I've experienced similar things quite often and it definitely helps keep me motivated to be kind/generous and watching for opportunities to connect/love people... which can sometimes be hard/scary as an introvert with anxiety. But always worth it.

Thank you also for your beautiful brushes which I use frequently (more than any others, in fact). I imported some of your older ones from photoshop to procreate and I am VERY eager to use your new procreate brushes when they are ready.

Thanks for reading, Chris, and I think you'll like the brushes I'm working on now. They're shaping up nicely!

Now that's what *I* needed to read! Thanks - a lot going on and I have to admit I am still recovering from the election results, like many of us. But need to get back on the horse.

Yes, we need to keep making art!

ahhh the German driving license experience.. fun times :) I passed both on the first time, but was horrified when the driving part was in one of the busiest & unfamiliar parts of Berlin. I was so relieved afterwards that I felt like I was floating. :) Next up the citizenship process..

thank you for your great brushes - I switched to Affinity and can't use them anymore alas..

Kyle, it is wonderful to see you in my inbox, and I always enjoy hearing what you have to say. The election outcome punched down the creativity of many, but optimism and hope, along with regular small achievements, can lift us up again. Giving back through our art and writing makes a difference. Letting others know we see them with a smile or hi when out and about daily is a happy moment for all. I look forward to using that new improved pencil in Procreate!

Thank you for your kind words of the power of positivity. I have set a goal to spread the virus of positivity because of your words. Thank you for sharing your brush-building experiments. Beautiful. Congratulations on passing your German driving theory test! Take good care of yourself. Welcome back.

Hi, Karen - the Germans don't mess around when it comes to driving! 😀

Thanks for reading and for the kind response.

Thanks for this post Kyle, that paragraph at the end about feeling a flicker of optimist is so true and so powerful. Keep it on!

If you are ever in Melbourne on the way to Tasmania, I´d love to gift you some of my poster art -many were created using your brushes :)

Thank you Kyle for this beautiful and encouraging note! It's hard to stay motivated, especially during these tough times and I can't help but feel sometimes that what's the point of all this, of all the work that I'm doing.

So thank you for the reminder. It felt so good to read it.

This is the first I’m reading your work, and I can’t tell you how much I needed it today. I’ve always been an optimist, but lately with everything happening I’ve found myself becoming a cynic in every aspect of my life. I needed the reminder that small acts of kindness are still worth it, and it’s important to take care of yourself so you can care for others. My art practice thanks you too!

Sorry for the ramble, but seriously, thank you for posting this. And as someone who uses digital pencils constantly, your work is super important!! You never know when something you make could catapult someone else on their artistic journey. And everyone needs that in some form or another. 😊

Hi, Phoebe - thanks for taking the time to read the newsletter. I'm glad it struck a chord with you. I sometimes think I write it to remind myself to stay positive, more than anything else.

It seems I needed to read this today. Maybe not needed, but it sure helps. Thank you, Kyle, for sharing positivity.
