Yes! I LOVE drawing Raph from TMNT. I can't help myself!

Such great characters to play with, I agree! Thanks for reading and for the note, Meaghan. I love your drawings, by the way.

Thanks, Dejan. I don't want artists (especially students) feeling like fan art is a waste of time. It's just more hours logged drawing, so that's great.

That’s a great perspective, Kyle! Analogously, we don’t have a problem with people practicing music by covering other people’s songs, and people will still listen to cover bands. Though, of course, it doesn’t get the same regard as original music. We should give visual art the same leeway.

While these days I am busy building new stories and characters of my own, if I didn’t have that I’d make more fan art. I’m a simple guy; if a character in the wild rubs me the right way I want to at least try my hand at drawing it. The latest TMNT movie and their chosen aesthetics renewed my high schooler fandom for the characters. Would like to try my hand at them when I get less busy. 🐢🍕

I haven't seen the latest movie, but it looks fun. Yeah, anytime I'm excited about a character or a story, I immediately want to draw some version of it. 🙂

Now I have the old TMNT theme song in the head. 🤣
