Thinking too much about a decision before I commit has lead to self doubt every time. I think that by getting more information and learning more I'll feel more confident and prepared. Instead, it seems that ignorance is really the way to go about starting a difficult project or task.

This is so true Kyle. My ignorance about things has helped me learn so much through the years. I usually dive in and start learning as I go at it. It also makes me think of a quote from the philosopher, Bruce Lee. “If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done. Make at least one definite move daily toward your goal.”

💯 I hadn’t animated until I decided to make an animated surf documentary. If I would have know the insane amount of work that goes into animating, plus making a documentary, my rational self would have said, “nah I’m good.” But, I went for it out of ignorance. My hard drive crashes one third of the way through making the film and I lost hundreds of drawings having to start over. Again, ignorance. 😂

Great article!! I feel that often times what holds me back the most, is thinking I have to know exactly what and how to do everything... I end up spending more time trying to get it all together than just going ahead and doing it. That I need to take classes and learn all about drawing/painting/backgrounds/animation/writing/socialmedia/etc before i can ever start making comics. Any more advices?
